SnapAlley’s Rules may change from time to time and you will be made aware of this by the last updated date that is displayed at the top of this document. It is your responsibility to ensure you stay informed and up to date with our rules so we recommend you visit this page on a regular basis.
SnapAlley exist in order for like minded individuals to share and learn about all aspects of photography in a friendly and mutually respectful community. In order to maintain this community all members must adhere to the following rules
1. No “Flaming”: Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle or threaten any other person or group
2. No “Trolling”: Do not post derogatory messages about subjects that may disrupt the peace and harmony of SnapAlley. This includes but is not limited to Any complaints, grievances, dissatisfaction, gripes, arguments should be directed to the moderators or the administrators via the contact form only and must not be published on any part of SnapAlley or, via the private messaging or email system. Any posts of this nature will be removed without notification
2.1. Do not create a thread or post with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes but not limited to messages in profiles, signatures and private messages
3. No “Spamming”: Please do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums
3.1. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site with the same message
3.2. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count
4. No “Advertising”: Please do not post or display any links to a product, service or website, either commercial or non-commercial
4.1. Any link to a site that may be in direct competition to SnapAlley is strictly forbidden, this includes, but is not limited to, forums, galleries, tutorials, blogs or directories
4.2. Members may list their personal web site, but only in their profile, and may submit their url for consideration of inclusion in the directory.
4.3. Members must not abuse this privilege by using other areas of SnapAlley to promote their sites, this includes, but is not limited to, asking for critique of their sites or general requests for people to look at the images on their sites
4.4. No links or display url’s to external sites are allowed, this includes, but is not limited to, signatures, avatars. watermarks or copyright notices
4.5. Links to images on hosting sites are not allowed, the image must display in the thread and not be a clickable link
4.5.1. Members must not link to unnecessarily large files that significantly slow down page loading times and keep the dimensions within 700 pixels on the longest side
4.6. Any other external links posted in the general forums must be relevant to the thread itself as determined by SnapAlley staff
4.7. Do not submit threads with partial information that would encourage members to visit external sites to obtain the full details of the thread
5. No senseless “Bumping”: Please do not bump threads without good reason, particularly within 24 hours
6. No “Offensive” Posts, Links or Images: Please do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or which otherwise violate any local or international laws. This includes links in your profile, as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff of SnapAlley Photography Forum will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not and act accordingly
7. The Owners of SnapAlley reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread/post for any reason without prior notice or explanation
8. SnapAlley operates a warning and banning system. Members violating the T&Cs may be subject to this system and failure to comply with a warning may result in a ban.
