NEW VOTING SYSTEM

After much deliberation we have decided to retire the old voting system and use the more traditional judging method.
Although the voting system has served us well, we feel the judging system will remove any question that we do not run a popularity contest. The problem with a member voting system is that it can be open to abuse, and in some contests, it is even encouraged that entrants get friends and family to vote for their photo, we’ve never allowed this, but that didn’t stop many entrants from trying to do exactly that, to cheat and win.
Fortunately we have a system that has helped us to identify the cheats and remove them from the contest, unfortunately this does create a lot of work each month and can cause delays in announcing the winner, which is not fair on everyone else who has played by the rules.
The judging system will start from Junes contest, so all entries for the motion contest are now being viewed by the judges and we hope to have the winner announced in the next few days.
We believe the new system will ensure there is no confusion that we run a photo contest and not a popularity contest.
